DisinformACTION – Final Bootcamp in France: Empowering Youth to Fight Climate Change Disinformation
We are excited to share the journey of the DisinformACTION Practice Exchange and Methodology Improvement Bootcamp that took place in France! With 62 passionate participants from across Europe, the bootcamp was an inspiring, hands-on experience focused on equipping young people with the skills to combat climate change disinformation through digital tools and innovative practices.
🌍 Day 1: Energizing Connections and Creative Campaigns
The first day was all about breaking the ice and setting the stage for meaningful collaboration. Participants quickly bonded through fun ice-breaking activities and games, which fostered a positive and open environment. We introduced the bootcamp’s objectives, creating a shared vision for the days ahead.
The afternoon brought the much-anticipated Sharing Session, where participants presented their climate change campaigns created in their home countries. Using the interactive Gallery Walk Method, each group displayed their campaigns, engaging in lively discussions and gathering feedback from their peers. It was a fantastic showcase of creativity and dedication to addressing climate misinformation.
The day ended with an exploration of the history of Clermont-Ferrand, where participants learned about the role of EU and European funding in shaping the city—a perfect blend of education and adventure!
✨ Day 2: Practical Tools and Methodology Development
On Day 2, participants dove deeper into the subject with the Exchange of Practices session, discussing real-world strategies to fight disinformation using the World Café method. The group explored how citizens, students, and social media users can contribute to debunking misinformation in their daily lives.
The afternoon featured the Climate Change Ambassadors Methodology Improvement Workshop, where participants reviewed and improved chapters of the existing methodology. Each team analyzed its content and suggested changes to enhance clarity and effectiveness. The day concluded with dissemination interviews and an Intercultural Evening—a celebration of diversity through food, music, and stories from across the world.
