Young Wax on the Market

After the kick-off meeting, we had our First Transnational Meeting: Laying the Foundation for Empowering Youth in E-Commerce.

On February 27-28, 2023, MIHI Latvia and our partner, Prios Kompetanse (Norway), embarked on a transformative journey to Turkey to participate in the first transnational meeting of the #youngwaxonthemarket project. Hosted by our esteemed partner, Nazilli Hem (Turkey), this meeting marked the official commencement of our initiative to empower disadvantaged youth through e-commerce education.

The meeting brought together representatives from our three partner organizations, creating a dynamic platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange. We engaged in in-depth discussions, brainstormed innovative ideas, and outlined a comprehensive action plan to achieve our shared objectives.

At the heart of our discussions was the identification of the target audience for our e-commerce learning platform. We identified five key profiles of young individuals eager to embrace e-commerce opportunities and seeking the necessary guidance:

  1. Young people seeking to actively participate in social and economic life but require adequate training, opportunities, and competencies.
  2. Young entrepreneurs who have previously attempted e-commerce ventures but encountered challenges.
  3. Young individuals pursuing e-commerce entrepreneurship as a career path, having completed or are currently studying in vocational education departments.
  4. Young entrepreneurs seeking to learn from successful e-commerce practices in Europe.
  5. Established e-commerce entrepreneurs seeking to refine their market research and analysis skills to effectively reach their target audience.

By understanding the unique needs and aspirations of these individuals, we can tailor our e-commerce learning platform to address their specific challenges and provide them with the knowledge and skills they require to succeed in this dynamic industry.

The first transnational meeting was a resounding success, setting the stage for a collaborative project that will undoubtedly positively impact the lives of disadvantaged youth. We are committed to working closely with our partners to develop a comprehensive and inclusive e-commerce learning platform that empowers young individuals to reach their full potential in the digital economy.

With the growing prominence of e-commerce in today’s digital landscape, we recognized the need to equip disadvantaged youth with the skills and knowledge to thrive in this dynamic sector. As a result, we embarked on a mission to bridge the digital divide and empower these individuals with the tools necessary to succeed in the world of e-commerce.

In April 2023 from 3rd-7th , we launched a comprehensive e-commerce training program specifically designed for young people from underserved communities in Latvia. The program, conducted by experienced industry professionals, provided participants with a holistic understanding of e-commerce principles, including:

  • Marketplace Exploration: Navigating popular e-commerce platforms and understanding their unique features
  • Business Establishment: The process of establishing a legally compliant and successful e-commerce business
  • Sales Boosting Strategies: Implementing effective marketing techniques to attract customers and drive sales
  • Case Study Development: Creating in-depth market analysis case studies to identify and understand market trends
  • Product Market Analysis: Conducting thorough product market research to ensure product viability and market demand

Through hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and mentorship opportunities, we aimed to equip participants with the practical skills and entrepreneurial mindset to launch and manage their own e-commerce ventures. The program’s emphasis on practical application and mentorship ensured that participants gained real-world insights and a support system to guide their entrepreneurial journey.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the program successfully concluded with a showcase of participant-developed e-commerce projects. Participants’ enthusiasm, dedication, and creative solutions showcased their potential to become successful entrepreneurs in the e-commerce space.

Second Transnational Project Meeting in Steinkjer, Norway, July 2023. Hosted by our project coordinator, Prios Kompetanse. This meeting brought together representatives from our team at MIHI and our partner organization, Nazilli Hem, from Turkey.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the launch of our e-commerce learning platform, a ground breaking resource that will empower disadvantaged youth with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the digital economy. We spent a day immersed in discussions, brainstorming ideas, and refining our approach to creating an inclusive and accessible learning experience

Third Transnational Partner Meeting: Bringing the Project to a Fulfilling Conclusion

This meeting marked the culmination of our one-year journey, bringing together representatives from our team and our partner organizations, Prios Kompetanse (Norway) and Nazilli Hem (Turkey).
